Russia’s Kremlin does not rule out resuming trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States

Reuters reported that U.S. special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner visited the Russian capital Moscow and the Ukrainian capital Kiev over the weekend in an attempt to inject new impetus into stalled peace talks seeking to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the above statement when asked about the visit.

Asked whether the trilateral talks would resume, Peskov told reporters: "As for the resumption of the trilateral format, you heard the statement from Kyiv yesterday, and Mr. Kushner also said something similar. We also do not rule out the resumption of the trilateral format, but it is still too early to talk about the location and specific date."

Peskov declined to comment on the details of the latest U.S. peace plan or the most thorny issues that have yet to be resolved.

But he noted that the Kremlin did not rule out the possibility of a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss the U.S. envoy's trip.
