The main towers of all bridges on the Ningbo-Zhou Railway have been capped, and the main tower of the Fuchimen road-rail dual-purpose bridge in Ningbo has been capped.

China News Service, Ningbo, September 13 (Reporter Wang Yifei) On September 13, the main tower of the Ningbo side of the Fuchimen Highway-Railway Bridge, the last bridge on the Ningbo-Zhou Railway, was successfully capped, marking that all the main towers of the bridges along the Ningbo-Zhou Railway were capped, and the project construction has made phased progress.

The main line of the Ningbo-Zhou Railway has a total length of 76.4 kilometers and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. It is a world-class cross-sea and island-connecting project. The key control projects of the "three bridges and one tunnel" along the entire line are Fuchimen Road-rail Dual-Use Bridge, Taoyaomen Road-rail Dual-Use Bridge, Xihoumen Dual-Use Road-rail Railroad Bridge and Jintang Undersea Tunnel.

According to China Railway Shanghai Bureau Group Co., Ltd., the Fuchimen road-rail dual-use bridge is located in the west of Zhoushan Islands, about 500 meters north of the existing Fuchimen Highway Bridge. It spans the Fuchimen Waterway and connects Zhoushan Main Island and Fuchi Island. It has a total length of 1,725.85 meters and a main span of 388 meters. It is the world's largest span road-rail same-story cable-stayed bridge with high and low towers. It is also the world's first steel box girder cable-stayed bridge with cantilevered arms in the tower. The bridge's innovative "beam-in-tower" structural design breaks through the structural limitations of traditional cable-stayed bridges and takes into account multiple requirements such as navigation scale, same-level traffic for highways and railways, and structural stability and safety.

The main tower that was topped out on that day is 153 meters high. The tower body is made up of 14 arc segments with different radii. It has a complex shape and high precision requirements. Faced with the complex shape, the project team integrated intelligent construction technology to create an intelligent climbing formwork system that integrates automatic climbing and fully enclosed protection. It adopted a segmented curved surface gradient pouring process, established a coupled monitoring system for wind, temperature, and sunlight, and dynamically corrected the formwork posture to ensure the vertical accuracy and smooth linear shape of the main tower.

The Ningbo-Zhou Railway starts from Ningbo East Station in the west and ends at Baiquan Town in Dinghai District. It has 7 stations and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. After the completion of the Ningbo-Zhou Railway, it will end the history of Zhoushan Islands not being connected to railways. Zhoushan City, the only prefecture-level city in the Yangtze River Delta that is not connected to high-speed rail, will join the national railway network. (over)
