"Longjiang Green Carbon" appeared at the Global Panda Partner Conference to share the practical exploration of "turning green into gold" in the northern forest area

China News Service, Harbin, November 4 (Reporter Liu Lu) On the 4th, reporters learned from the Heilongjiang Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau that "Longjiang Green Carbon" was unveiled at the 2026 Global Panda Partners Conference. In the parallel forum Zero Carbon China Forum, Song Jiageng, director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Forestry Technical Service Center, introduced "Empowering Zero Carbon China: The Practice and Typical Experience of "Longjiang Green Carbon" in Creating a Zero-Carbon Scenario" to share with guests at home and abroad the entire chain of Heilongjiang's exploration of promoting ecological value transformation.

Heilongjiang Province is rich in forest, wetland and grassland resources and is an important ecological security barrier in the north of the motherland. In order to make carbon sink resources measurable, verifiable and tradable, the Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau used "institutional innovation" to activate the economic value of carbon sinks and established the country's first provincial forestry carbon sink trading system, giving "invisible carbon sinks" a unified accounting standard and trading path. So far, the cumulative transaction volume of "Longjiang Green Carbon" is 154,200 tons and the transaction volume is 13.3885 million yuan.

In the next step, the Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau will make every effort to promote the construction of the national forestry and grassland carbon sequestration pioneer province, anchoring the three major directions of "energy storage", "energy release" and "empowerment" to plan the layout. Implement actions to improve ecological carbon sinks and continue to consolidate forest and grass carbon pools; rely on institutional innovation to activate channels for realizing the value of carbon sink ecological products; strengthen scientific and technological support with digital intelligence upgrades and technical research to continuously release new productivity of forest and grass carbon sinks.
