Nantou County suffered severe drought this year, resulting in a 60% to 80% reduction in the production of Mengzong bamboo shoots on forestry land. The Ministry of Agriculture has announced cash assistance for the damage to bamboo shoots in Nantou County, with a subsidy of 41,000 yuan per hectare. Applications are open until June 16, so the public can take advantage of the time.

The Nantou County Government stated that due to the drought at the beginning of this year, bamboo shoot production was first reported to be reduced in the agricultural lands of Zhushan and Lugu in Nantou, and later on local forestry land. After consultation between local and central governments, the Ministry of Agriculture has successively announced cash assistance for agricultural damage to agricultural and forestry lands in the bamboo and deer areas.

However, due to the expansion of the impact of the drought, other towns and villages in the county later experienced delayed bamboo shoot production reductions, resulting in poor sprout germination and slow growth, resulting in a 60% to 80% reduction in bamboo shoot production. Therefore, the Ministry of Agriculture announced that cash assistance for bamboo shoots on forestry land in the county would be open to villages and towns outside the bamboo and deer areas, with a subsidy of 41,000 yuan per hectare. Applications will be accepted until June 16, and farmers are urged to apply to the local township office as soon as possible.
