Ozone warning issued for five cities in southern Gyeonggi Province... Ozone advisory maintained in central region

(Suwon = Yonhap News) An ozone warning was issued for five cities in the southern Gyeonggi region as of 4 p.m. on the 10th, the Korea Environment Corporation, a Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, reported.

The regions in question are Yongin, Pyeongtaek, Icheon, Anseong, and Yeoju.

The average ozone concentration in the area where the announcement was issued is 0.1224 ppm (1 part per million) as of 4 p.m.

Previously, ozone advisories were also issued for 11 cities in the central region.

If the 1-hour average concentration of ozone (O₃) in the air is more than 0.12 ppm, an ozone warning is issued, if it is more than 0.30 ppm, an ozone warning is issued, and if it is more than 0.50 ppm, an ozone serious warning is issued.

When an ozone warning is issued, the elderly, children, and people with respiratory or heart diseases should refrain from outdoor activities. It is also recommended that the general public avoid outdoor activities or extreme exercise.
