The National Games torch was lit, and Taoyuan Mayor Zhang Shanzheng announced the official start of the torch relay.

The National Games will be held grandly in Taoyuan from October 17th to 22nd. Mayor Zhang Shanzheng and Fang Ruiwen, Director of National Sports of the Ministry of Sports, jointly lit the Games torch today (13th) evening and announced the grand start of the national torch relay. The first torch bearer will be the "Taoyuan Qiaogu Football Gold Medal Team" that dominates the country and is about to challenge for six consecutive championships. In addition to the national torch relay, the torch will also penetrate into the 13 administrative districts of Taoyuan.

This year's ceremony broke with tradition. The "Xuanwuyan Theater Troupe" kicked off the event with an electric illusion light and shadow show that shocked the audience. The technological lights and flames were intertwined to perfectly interpret the never-giving-up and bright national sports spirit, presenting a dynamic feast with great visual impact.

After Zhang Shanzheng and Fang Ruiwen jointly lit the torch of the tournament, the first torchbearers were seven national players from the "Taoyuan Qiaogu Gold Medal Team", including Xu Jiarong, Liao Linghui, Chen Jiaxin, Chen Mengqi, He Jiaxuan, Wu Mofan, and Lu Yixuan. The players took over the torch with strong skills, showing the majestic momentum of the local team's fearless challenge and strong retention of gold, and also symbolized the inheritance and breakthrough of sports spirit from generation to generation.

Zhang Shanzheng said that this year's National Games has the core spirit of "All People Dare to Move, Peach Battle to the Peak", and Taoyuan has prepared to the highest standards, adhering to the concept of "Athletes First, Service First" to provide the best competition stage for all Taiwan's athletes. There will be a total of 32 competition events in this competition, spanning 43 venues across the city. Tens of thousands of players and referees will gather in Taoyuan.

Zhang Shanzheng emphasized that the torch is not only the prelude to the event, but also the emotional link between the city. He invites people across the country to visit Daxi, Fuxing, Longtan, Beiheng and coastal scenery during the event to experience the charm of Taoyuan's culture, tourism and food.

The Taoyuan City Sports Bureau stated that this year's torch relay is divided into two tracks: the "National Route" and the "Taoyuan City Route". The national relay (9/14 to 10/12) starts from Taoyuan, igniting the passion for national sports all the way to all places in Taiwan. County and city, showing the cohesion of sports across regions; the city broadcast (10/13 to 10/16) will go deep into the 13 administrative districts of Taoyuan, enter the streets and alleys to celebrate with the citizens, let the energy of national sports take root in the community and ignite the city's craze.
