8일 강화군에 따르면 이날 오후 3시 20분께 강화군 서도면 주문도 대빈창해수욕장 인근에서 대인지뢰 1개가 발견됐다.

해수욕장 인근 환경 정비를 하던 근로자가 발견해 관계기관에 신고했다.

군 당국은 현장에서 해당 지뢰를 수거해 안전하게 폭파하는 방법으로 처리했다.

해당 지뢰는 여름철 집중호우로 북한 지역에서 유실된 지뢰가 떠내려온 것으로 추정된다.

강화군 도서 지역에서 지뢰가 발견된 것은 지난 8월 15일 이후 54일 만이다.

강화군에서는 지난 7∼8월 목함지뢰와 대인지뢰 등 17개가 잇따라 발견된 바 있다.

강화군은 한글날 연휴가 시작되는 만큼 안전안내 문자를 통해 각별한 주의를 당부했다.

군은 "북한에서 떠내려온 유실지뢰 등이 발견되고 있으니 의심물체를 발견한 경우 접촉하지 말고 군부대나 경찰에 신고바란다"고 밝혔다.
