The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Seoul Metropolitan Government recently met twice with the minister and mayor over the issue of housing supply using part of Yongsan Park, but were unable to reach common ground on key issues.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is considering providing housing for young people and newlyweds on some damaged sites in Yongsan Park, but Seoul City is opposed to using the park as a residential site.
A conclusion must also be reached on the plan to utilize the Tancheon Water Reclamation Center, which the Seoul Metropolitan Government proposed as an alternative. The city of Seoul reported that it could supply up to 13,000 households at the Tancheon Water Reclamation Center site, which is approximately 393,000 square meters in size, and submitted related data to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
