Russian TV presenter and journalist Ksenia Sobchak joked about her reluctance to turn the subjects of her interviews into foreign agents. She spoke on this topic in a conversation with former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter; the recording was published on YouTube.

Ritter said that he did not receive money for his program “The Scott Ritter Show,” which aired on the “We Watch” platform owned by VGTRK. Sobchak responded by pointing out that if the interlocutor had admitted to receiving a fee from the Russian state television and radio company, then in the United States he could have been recognized as a foreign agent.

“I don’t want to make anyone after Morgenstern (rapper Alisher Morgenstern, included in the register of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation - Note by Lenta.ru) a foreign agent - neither in America nor in Russia,” the journalist sneered. She urged Ritter to stop at the fact that he made the program for the Russian audience for free and only out of love for the country.

Sobchak interviewed Morgenstern in 2021. During the conversation, the rapper admitted that he sees no point in celebrating Victory Day. His statements caused a wide resonance, and the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered an investigation of the artist.
