In the Honam primary of the Democratic Party of Korea, candidate Kim Min-seok wins with 57.54%, beating candidates Chung Cheong-rae and Song Young-gil.

On the 15th, Democratic Party candidate Kim Min-seok won with 57.54% of the votes, defeating candidates Jeong Cheong-rae and Song Young-gil in the Honam (Gwangju, Jeollanam-do and Jeonbuk) circuit primary. Candidate Kim gained the upper hand in the party leadership race by receiving a majority of votes in the Honam region. From Candidate Chung’s perspective, he must lay the foundation for a reversal in the remaining primaries in the metropolitan area.

The Democratic Party's Central Party Election Commission announced the results of the vote for rights party members in the Honam region after holding a joint speech in Naju, Jeollanam-do and Iksan, Jeollabuk-do. As a result of counting the votes for each candidate, Candidate Kim was ahead of Candidate Chung (32.65%) by 24.89 percentage points with 57.54% of the votes. Candidate Song, who is from Honam, had a vote rate of 9.81%.

Candidate Kim won a major victory in the Honam primary, the biggest battleground, and received a majority of the votes (52.21%) in cumulative votes. Candidate Chung's cumulative vote rate was calculated to be 38.14%.
