MOSCOW, September 17 - RIA Novosti. Insertable additional fuel tanks make the Su-57E fighter unsurpassed in its class in terms of flight range and duration in the air, Rostec said on Thursday.

“The Su-57E demonstrated an exceptional flight range with inserted fuel tanks,” says a message on the state corporation’s Telegram channel.

It is noted that the fighter, using inserted fuel tanks inside the cargo compartments, flew to the El Alamein International Airshow, which took place on September 8-10 in Egypt. Their use made it possible to do without the classic external fuel tanks on the external sling of the aircraft.

The state corporation reported that the flight to El Alamein was carried out with one intermediate landing, while the plane still had fuel reserves for another thousand kilometers.

“This was enough to carry out a demonstration flight the next day, equivalent in cost to a full-fledged air battle,” Rostec said.

The message indicates that the possibility of using detachable fuel tanks is fully consistent with the concept of the fifth generation aircraft. This allows you to maintain the aerodynamics of the car and provide a significant margin of driving range.
