According to reports, 4 out of every 10 pieces of sanitary ceramics in the country are produced in Chaozhou, and one out of every three domestic smart toilets is made in Chaozhou. About 80% of the ceramic bases of smart toilets come from here, and the product qualification rate is stable at more than 99.5%. The annual production capacity of sanitary ceramics is nearly 90 million pieces, accounting for about 40% of the country, and the annual export volume of ceramics exceeds 10 billion yuan.
In July this year, the Chaozhou economic and trade delegation went to Kuala Lumpur to participate in an exhibition, and the exhibition hall was very popular.
Perak State Executive Councilor Luo Siyi said that Malaysia currently has a strong demand for smart home upgrades and housing project construction. There is a huge market gap in smart toilets, constant temperature showers, smart bathroom cabinets, intelligent bathroom control systems, and aging-friendly bathroom complete solutions. This is the core track for in-depth cooperation and win-win results between China and Malaysia.
Liang Hao, deputy president of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development’s Construction Magazine, said that part of the upstream raw materials for Chaozhou’s smart sanitary ware come from Malaysia, and are fired, produced, and installed in Chaozhou. Now the market is at the doorstep of Southeast Asia. A closed loop of “raw materials coming from Malaysia, Chaozhou Intelligent Manufacturing, and selling back to ASEAN” naturally exists.
Yitongda, which is rooted in Chaozhou, is leasing an overseas exhibition center of about 2,000 square meters in Kuala Lumpur, supporting two overseas warehouses of about 5,000 square meters each in Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh. It will first run through "see samples, get ready goods, and enjoy local distribution." At present, The two warehouses are in the business verification period; after the model matures, Chaozhou smart toilets, smart bathroom cabinets, constant-temperature showerheads, and aging-appropriate renovation plans will be sent to Malaysia's new housing and public housing projects. At the same time, Malaysian kaolin will be transported to Chaozhou for deep processing.
During the signing process, Chaozhou Yitongda Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. took the lead in signing a contract with Malaysian AllSome Warehouse Company; subsequently, representatives of Chaozhou Intelligent Bathroom Industrial Cluster and Construction Industry Enterprises signed a contract with the Malaysian Perak State Economic Development Agency. According to Malaysian disclosures, representatives of six other Chaozhou smart bathroom and construction companies signed letters of intent for cooperation with the Perak state government.
Regarding the next step, the Malaysian side expressed its desire to promote the cooperation to start as soon as possible, while the Chaozhou side focused on supporting supporting undertakings - first to implement enterprise docking, project screening, mutual recognition of standards, certification interoperability and supply chain network, so that cooperation intentions can grow into visible orders and projects.
