Tianjin’s fourth national agricultural census enters the stage of thorough investigation

China News Service, Tianjin, November 6 (Reporter Zhou Yaqiang) The reporter learned from the press conference held by the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Statistics on the 6th that Tianjin’s fourth national agricultural census has entered the preparatory stage of inventory and mapping, and the city’s inventory and mapping will be completed before November 30.

Du Guobin, deputy director of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Statistics and director of the Office of the Municipal Fourth National Agricultural Census Leading Group, introduced that the standard time for the fourth national agricultural census is 24:00 on December 31, 2026, the on-site registration stage is from January to May 2027, the data processing and release stage is from June to December 2027, and the data development and application stage is from 2028 to 2029.

According to reports, Tianjin has focused on promoting five aspects of work: refining the census implementation plan and clarifying 74 tasks in 13 categories of projects in 4 stages; establishing a mechanism for regular departmental consultation, linkage and results sharing; launching a national comprehensive pilot project in Damengzhuang Town, Wuqing District, and independently developing projects in the other nine agriculture-related districts. Comprehensive pilot projects have been carried out; business training has been carried out in different levels and categories. A total of 5 batches of training have been carried out at the municipal level, with more than 300 people, and more than 10,000 "two-person" inventory and survey business training has been completed in each agricultural-related area; census publicity has been carried out through promotional videos, posters, statistical open days, rural buses, text messages, etc.

Compared with the third national agricultural census, the fourth agricultural census has been upgraded in terms of survey content, survey methods, technical means and data sharing. Du Guobin said that the Fourth Agricultural Census has added key survey contents such as diversified food supply, cultivation of new agricultural productivity, integration of rural industries, livability and industry, and the construction of beautiful countryside; implemented a comprehensive census and sampling survey, a combination of long-form detailed survey and short-form brief survey; promoted satellite remote sensing, drone aerial photography, artificial intelligence verification, mobile terminal on-site collection and other technologies; built a "one picture" service platform for agricultural census data to promote data interconnection and cross-checking.

In terms of data quality, Li Ping, director of the Rural Statistics Division of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Statistics, said that Tianjin has established a four-level linkage organizational structure in cities, towns, and villages, established a full-process census data quality control system and a job responsibility system, improved data quality traceability and accountability mechanisms, and reviewed, verified, and accepted census data. The urban and rural census offices at the two levels selected a certain proportion of census plots to conduct post-event quality inspections to ensure that the census data is authentic, accurate, complete, and timely.
