Helicopter crashes southeast of Harare, killing six people

A helicopter crashed southeast of Zimbabwe's capital Harare, killing six people, said Nick Mangwana, permanent secretary at the country's Ministry of Information.

On board the helicopter were a prominent businessman, three other passengers and two pilots.

Earlier, the Herald newspaper reported that a helicopter crashed near the town of Marondera, the administrative center of the Mashonaland East province.

"The government confirms the crash of a helicopter carrying a prominent businessman, three other passengers and two pilots. Current information indicates that there are no survivors from the crash," Mangwana wrote on his social media page.
