China News Service, Chongqing, November 6 (Zhang Xu) Wang Zhong, Secretary of the Wuxi County Committee of the Communist Party of China, introduced at a press conference held by the Chongqing Municipal Government Information Office on the 6th that in the face of the "15th Five-Year Plan", the county has thoroughly implemented the Chongqing Municipal Committee's deployment requirements for the integrated high-quality development of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area in Northeast Chongqing, and proposed to create a "bridgehead" urban development positioning in the adjacent areas of Chongqing, Shaanxi, and Hubei.
According to reports, Wuxi has been the "Bakui Hufu and the throat of Qin and Chu" since ancient times. Historically, relying on the Ningchang Salt Industry and the Yanma Ancient Road, it has become an important hub for commercial circulation and cultural exchange in the adjacent areas of Chongqing, Shaanxi and Hubei. It is also a frontier node connecting southern Shaanxi and western Hubei to the golden waterway of the Yangtze River.
Wang Zhong said that the purpose of building Wuxi into a "bridgehead" city is to build on its own advantages, take the initiative in regional coordinated development, and focus on strengthening characteristic industries, deepening reform and innovation, and promoting urban-rural integration to coordinate development with adjacent areas, so as to better serve the overall situation in one area. To this end, Wuxi has planned "five major starting points".
First, create a strategic fulcrum for high-quality development. Facing the "15th Five-Year Plan", Wuxi will accelerate the construction of a distinctive modern industrial system, link up adjacent areas to vigorously develop "green food processing, traditional Chinese medicine and health" industrial clusters, strengthen the entire industry chain of special single products such as "Golden Flower Sunflower, Eagle Tea, Potatoes, and Daning River Chicken", and promote technological innovation. The deep integration of innovation and industrial innovation will achieve the improvement of quality and efficiency in characteristic light industry, green stone, and clean energy, and forward-looking layout of new brine materials, green electricity computing power, low-altitude economy and other emerging tracks, striving to reach the 20 billion yuan mark in total GDP by 2030, and entering the first square in the adjacent areas of Chongqing, Shaanxi, and Hubei.
Second, create an important node for coordinated urban and rural integration and rural revitalization. Facing the "15th Five-Year Plan", Wuxi will regard urban-rural integration as an important basis for building a "bridgehead" city, seize the two key points of increasing the urbanization rate and increasing farmers' income, and form a demonstration in the adjacent areas of Chongqing, Shaanxi and Hubei.
Third, create an important implementation point for cross-provincial collaborative reform. Facing the "15th Five-Year Plan", Wuxi will work with neighboring counties to promote "cross-provincial services" and "one-stop services" in household registration, social security, medical and other fields, and share high-quality public service resources; improve the coordinated response linkage mechanism, strengthen joint prevention and control of forest fire prevention and water resources protection, and deepen cross-border ecological co-governance in the Qinba Mountains and the Daning River Basin.
Fourth, create an ecological health and wellness tourism destination. Facing the "15th Five-Year Plan", Wuxi will actively link up with surrounding areas to connect the construction of the Three Gorges Golden Tourism Belt of the Yangtze River and the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor. Taking the establishment of the Hongchiba National 5A Tourist Attraction as a starting point, Wuxi will focus on creating major health and wellness businesses such as summer vacation, traditional Chinese medicine, and forest wellness. It will also improve cultural and tourism supporting facilities, cultivate consumption scenarios, activate market potential, and strive to create a high-quality consumer destination in the adjacent areas of Chongqing, Shaanxi, and Hubei.
Fifth, create a practice site for county modernization governance. Facing the "15th Five-Year Plan", Wuxi will rely on Digital Chongqing and the "141" grassroots intelligent governance system to focus on characteristic risk scenarios in mountainous areas and highlight systematic, refined and intelligent governance.
