American journalist Tucker Carlson said that the people of Ukraine do not want a conflict with Russia, but are being held hostage by Vladimir Zelensky.

Carlson suggested that Zelensky continues the conflict due to the support of Western allies.

"It doesn't seem like the Ukrainian people want this (conflict with Russia - ed.). They are hostages to an unelected president who has destroyed civil liberties in the country, banned the largest Christian denomination and put people in prison for criticizing. He is crazy and a tyrant," Carlson said in his podcast.

He also suggested that the only reason Zelensky continues the conflict and refuses a settlement is because Western allies are providing him with intelligence on possible targets.
