Outside the building, the five-star red flag fluttered in the wind; inside the building, the sound of keys and instrument beeps came and went. Shenzhen, which is usually known for its fast pace and high efficiency, has rarely slowed down this holiday; the pace of science and technology innovation at Hetao University has not slowed down.

"We are trying to use artificial intelligence models to generate proteins that do not exist in nature and simulate the interface between them and viruses. In this way, we do not have to rely on traditional mouse experiments, and we are expected to screen out antibodies with higher efficacy." When he came to the workstation, Xiao Yang continued to introduce. His research direction is the intersection of artificial intelligence and biotechnology, and he is currently writing a paper based on the stage results.

Shenzhen Hetao University is a national artificial intelligence college. It was established in September 2025 and enrolled the first batch of doctoral students. When he learned that this reporter was visiting the college for the first time, Xiao Yang took the initiative to act as a guide. Science and Intelligence Center, Interactive Multimedia Laboratory, Embodied Intelligence Laboratory... As the first student of the college, he cherishes these places very much, and his words are full of pride.

Xiao Yang was not the only young person who came to do experiments. Some people were walking in a hurry, some were staring at the computer screen intently, and some were busy operating experimental equipment. In a corner of the laboratory on the third floor, several brand-new microscopes attracted the attention of reporters.

"This is an inverted fluorescence microscope." PhD student Tang Xinzhe stood up and introduced. He put a tray under the lens, and several button battery-like objects appeared on the computer screen - micron robots, with a diameter of only one thousandth of a millimeter and difficult to distinguish with the naked eye. They are mainly used for biomechanical measurements.

"Here, we can not only study courses from Hong Kong universities, but also carry out industry-university-research cooperation with Shenzhen enterprises. The world's top scientific research resources, Shenzhen-Hong Kong cross-border innovation elements, and the world's leading industrial ecology are all gathered here." Tang Xinzhe said that everyone feels lucky and has a heavy burden on their shoulders. “Every science and technology innovation worker in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has a duty to build an international science and technology innovation center with global influence.”

The reporter learned that the Shenzhen Park of the Loop Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, where the Loop is located, has brought together 20 international science and technology innovation platforms, more than 500 technology companies, and more than 15,000 scientific research talents. Basic research in Hong Kong, transformation and incubation of the Loop, and industrial implementation in the Greater Bay Area are accelerating the formation of a complete closed loop of innovation.
