Vessel traffic in the Bosphorus was temporarily suspended in both directions after an engine failure on the Maltese chemical tanker IVYAN.

The boat EGM-4, rescue boats TAHLİSİYE-2 and TAHLİSİYE-9, as well as tugboats KURTARMA-7 and KURTARMA-11 were sent to the scene of the incident.

ANKARA, Oct 11 - RIA Novosti. Vessel traffic in the Bosphorus was temporarily suspended in both directions after an engine failure on a tanker traveling from Bulgaria to Italy, the DHA agency reported.

According to the agency, the incident occurred around 19.10 local time (the same as Moscow time). The 107-meter-long vessel found itself anchored off Kanlıj due to engine failure. Coast Guard boats and several rescue tugs were sent to the scene. Specialists began work to assist the ship.
