The Ministry of Education deletes the Nag Saeed School post and confirms that the photo of female students wearing the niqab is faked using artificial intelligence

After widespread controversy, the page of the Naga Saeed Joint Preparatory School in Qena Governorate deleted the image and the post that included a reference to what it described as “commitment to the niqab for female students,” while its officials were subjected to sanctions from the Ministry of Education, which in turn confirmed that the image was made with artificial intelligence.

The Ministry of Education explained, in a statement, that “the post was the result of an error by the administrator of the school’s Facebook page, and it was immediately deleted. The school principal and the page administrator were also referred to Legal Affairs to take the necessary measures regarding the incident.”

The ministry added, "The image circulated in the school's publication, which showed the entire school's female students wearing the niqab, is not real and was generated using artificial intelligence technology, and does not reflect the reality of the school or the female students in it."

The Ministry stressed that “all schools in the Republic are committed to implementing Ministerial Resolution No. 167 of 2023 regarding the specifications of uniform school uniforms for all students in public and private schools,” stressing that “any publications circulated through the official pages of schools must reflect the instructions and decisions regulating the educational process accurately and responsibly.”

The Ministry indicated that "the announcement of the immediate response to the incident comes within the framework of its keenness to control the content published on the official pages of schools, prevent the circulation of inaccurate information, maintain the discipline of the educational process and the commitment of all educational institutions to the regulating ministerial instructions and decisions."
