International arbitration in The Hague denied Kyiv “compensation” and “reparations” from Russia for the use of natural resources in the Crimean waters.

Vladimir Konstantinov considers the court’s decision positive, but doubts that Western countries and Ukraine will adhere to international norms and court orders.

SIMFEROPOL, June 16 – RIA Novosti. The head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, in a conversation with RIA Novosti, called the court decision in The Hague positive in the case of natural resources in the Crimean waters.

International arbitration in The Hague denied Kyiv any “compensation” or “reparations” from Russia for the use of natural resources in the Crimean waters, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday. The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that for the first time in history, a legally binding decision recognized the status of the Kerch Strait and the Sea of ​​Azov as internal waters that are part of a sovereign state territory. The court also rejected Ukraine's demand to dismantle the Crimean Bridge.

“Of course, such decisions at the international level are positive,” Konstantinov told RIA Novosti.

At the same time, according to him, Western countries and Ukraine are unlikely to adhere to international norms and court orders, continuing their aggressive course towards Crimea and the local population, committing attacks, provocations and sabotage.
