وندد وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي يسرائيل كاتس بما اعتبره "محاولة هجوم جهادي" على متن الطائرة.

وكانت الطائرة تعبر الأجواء السعودية في طريقها من دبي إلى تل أبيب عندما طلبت الهبوط اضطرارياً في مطار سلطان بن عبد العزيز الدولي في تبوك في شمال غرب السعودية.

واتهم وزير الأمن القومي الإسرائيلي اليميني المتطرف، إيتمار بن غفير، "إرهابياً" بمحاولة إسقاط الطائرة وقتل الإسرائيليين على متنها.
