The Taoyuan City Tourism Development Foundation invited Ary Sendjaja Suhandi, chairman of the Asia Ecotourism Alliance (AEN), and Wita Permatasari Simatupang, CEO of the Indonesian Ecotourism Network (INDECON), to visit Longgang, Taoyuan. They collaborated with the Municipal Maternal and Child Development Bureau, the Taiwan Ecotourism Association and local partners to exchange ideas on female empowerment, new resident culture and community tourism. Through on-the-spot visits and local experiences, they explored transforming Taoyuan's diverse culture into an internationally attractive tourism experience.
City Government Maternal and Child Development Director To Cirong said today that Taoyuan’s new resident population has exceeded 71,000, including about 5,300 Indonesians. The city government provides services such as life adaptation, interpretation, legal consultation and cultural exchange through the New Residents Family Service Center, New Residents Cultural Center and community bases. Director of Maternity and Children's Affairs Du Cirong pointed out that Taoyuan continues to promote the "One District, One Women's Road" project and the training of women's road guides. The Pingzhen Women's Road is characterized by Longgang's "Gang Hao You. Foreign Women's Road", which presents the intertwined stories of diverse ethnic groups, immigrant life and local culture from a female perspective.

This year, the Tourism Development Foundation and the Maternal and Child Development Bureau jointly launched the "Taoyuan Old Town Special Class for New Residents" and invited 35 new residents to participate in the training. It is hoped that new residents will not only be introduced to tourist stories, but also become local tour guides who tell stories in person, transforming cultural background and experience of living in Taoyuan into a new entrance to the city.
Tourism Director Chen Jingfang mentioned that Longgang has a diverse culture and unique history, and is also an important place for Taoyuan to promote Muslim-friendly tourism. The Longgang Meigan Festival has also been included in the 2026-2027 Tourism Biennial Calendar of the Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Transport as an "International Featured Event". This exchange also arranged a visit to the Muslim-friendly kitchen in Zhongzhen Xincun Cultural Park to experience local food and promote friendly catering and related certifications.
Chen Xinshou, deputy executive director of the Tourism Development Foundation, said that Longgang combines the culture of new residents, special food, Longgang Mosque and local stories about women, which has the foundation to develop characteristic tourism. In the future, we will integrate women's trails, new residents' guides, mosques and Muslim-friendly restaurants to develop Muslim experience tours with Longgang characteristics. We will continue to connect Asian eco-tourism and international tourism networks, and through talent training and tour development, we will make women, new residents and local communities an important force in Taoyuan's tourism development.
