Trump posts edited photos showing claims of ownership of the moon and changing names of geographic landmarks

Trump posted a picture of the moon with the words: “The moon belongs to us,” along with the American flag. This announcement comes days after Trump visited the Space Center in Texas, where he expressed his hope that one of the lunar landmarks would be named after him. He welcomed astronaut Reed Wiseman, commander of the second Artemis mission, noting that one of the lunar craters was named after his late wife.

The posts included a wide range of content, beginning with a photo of actor Robert De Niro wearing a T-shirt supporting Trump, a sarcastic reference to the long-running feud between the president and the Hollywood star.

The pictures included historical fantasies, including the visit of the first US President, George Washington, to Trump, and an intense campaign to rename geographical landmarks to his liking, as Trump published a picture of himself changing the name of Lake Ontario to “Lake America,” in addition to changing the name of the state of New Mexico to “New America.”

Trump also posted an artificial intelligence-generated image in which the shape of Iran was slightly modified to remind him of his features, and other images showed sunken warships and a television on the screen of which his predecessor, Joe Biden, appeared wearing a hat in support of Trump. The posts also included a photo of a burning, sinking passenger ship, with the words "Democratic Party" written on it.
