Business dialogue "Russia - ASEAN" at the EEF will consolidate practical agreements

The Russia-ASEAN business dialogue will become an important part of the business program of the Eastern Economic Forum.

2026 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Russia’s relations with ASEAN; the June summit in Kazan was timed to coincide with this date.

As a result of the summit, a comprehensive action plan for 2026–2030 was adopted, and the business dialogue at the WEF will make it possible to translate the provisions of this plan into practice.

MOSCOW, August 22 - RIA Novosti. The business dialogue between Russia and the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will become an important part of the business program of the Eastern Economic Forum; new practical agreements are expected as a result of these meetings, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“The EEF is, first of all, a platform for developing business and attracting investments. Business dialogues will traditionally be one of the important elements of the forum program. Meetings of Russian entrepreneurs with colleagues from China, India, Mongolia, and Vietnam are planned,” Kobyakov said.

“I will note the upcoming Russia-ASEAN business dialogue,” he added.

The presidential aide recalled that 2026 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Russia’s relations with ASEAN, and the June summit in Kazan with the participation of top officials was timed to coincide with this.

“Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that relations with the organization have the nature of a strategic partnership, which, in conditions of geopolitical turbulence, is an important stabilizing factor in the Asia-Pacific region,” Kobyakov recalled.

As a result of the summit, a comprehensive action plan for 2026–2030 was adopted. “Formats such as the upcoming business dialogue at the WEF make it possible to translate the provisions of this plan into practice. We expect new agreements to be reached here,” he concluded.
