Affected by strong southwesterly winds and low-pressure belts, Kaohsiung City will continue to rain today (22nd). The city government announced at nearly 8 o'clock tonight that according to the forecast data of the Central Meteorological Administration, affected by low-pressure belts and southwesterly winds, the rainfall will increase significantly tomorrow (23rd), except for rain in mountainous areas. In addition to reaching the standard for suspending work and classes, the strong wind axis of the southwest monsoon is mainly in the Bashi Channel area. The weather in Kaohsiung is still unstable, and there may be more severe heavy rainfall, which may easily lead to disaster risks. To protect the safety of citizens, Kaohsiung City will suspend work and classes tomorrow.

Affected by strong southwesterly winds and low-pressure belts, Kaohsiung City has been experiencing heavy rain for three consecutive days. The Central Meteorological Administration continued to issue special heavy rain warnings for the southern Gaoping area today. The rain in Kaohsiung city escalated again this morning. The 24-hour cumulative rainfall at many measuring stations exceeded 200 millimeters, and even approached 300 millimeters in some areas. In some areas, the rainfall soared to more than 80 millimeters, which was obviously "overloaded" and caused temporary water accumulation in many low-lying road sections in the city during the morning rush hour.

The Meteorological Administration also announced that "large-scale severe heavy rain operations" will be launched from 5 o'clock this evening. From tomorrow to next Tuesday morning, the rainfall will be more obvious, and there will be local rainfall above the heavy rain level in the south.
