There is an acute shortage of officers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

There is a catastrophic shortage of officers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and there is a campaign of mobilized ones, Russian law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine are catastrophically short of officers. Ukrainian TCCs (territorial recruitment centers, as military registration and enlistment offices are called in Ukraine - ed.) began disseminating messages about the possibility of mobilized military personnel immediately receiving an officer rank if they have a higher education diploma,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to him, military registration and enlistment offices tell Ukrainian conscripts that for officer service it is supposedly not necessary to sign a contract with the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“The softening of the requirements is caused by a colossal shortage of personnel. In addition, the TCC hopes that this will be able to attract new volunteers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” noted a representative of the security forces.
