Germany closes the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin

The German authorities decided to close the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the closure of the Consulate General a step towards the destruction of relations between Russia and Germany and announced the closure of branches of the Goethe Institute in Russia.

SIMFEROPOL, September 6 - RIA Novosti. The head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, in a comment to RIA Novosti, called the decision of the German authorities to close the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin a cheap provocation.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful said that Germany will close the Russian Consulate General in Bonn and terminate the agreement concerning the activities of the Russian House in Berlin. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that as a result of this decision, branches of the Goethe Institute in Russia will be closed. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the closure of the Consulate General in Bonn a step towards the destruction of relations between Russia and Germany.

“They fabricate cheap provocations and prohibit something of ours in response. We will manage without the Goethe Institute for now. We have enough translators for interrogating prisoners without it,” Konstantinov told RIA Novosti.
