Russian Ambassador Miroshnik accused Ukraine of bargaining during negotiations on the exchange of prisoners

Ambassador at Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik said that Ukraine is constantly bargaining during negotiations on the exchange of prisoners of war.

The Ukrainian side seeks to exchange, first of all, officers of radical units and “Azovites,” while Russia is fighting for the return of every soldier and every civilian from captivity.

MOSCOW, September 10 - RIA Novosti. During negotiations on the exchange of prisoners of war, Ukraine is constantly bargaining and trying to include radicals on the lists, Ambassador at Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik told RIA Novosti.

“In terms of exchanges, Ukraine behaves like a merchant on imports. As part of the negotiation process, when lists are being agreed upon, they have their own priorities, who they want to take,” Miroshnik said.

According to him, the Ukrainian side primarily seeks to exchange officers of radical units and “Azovites”* (militants from the terrorist organization “Azov”*, banned in Russia).

The ambassador emphasized that Russia is fighting to take every soldier and every civilian from enemy captivity.
