Journalist Marat Vinsky decided to go to the Northern Military District after an editorial trip to Donetsk.

He made the final decision to sign the contract after an interview with a 20-year-old intelligence officer.

Vinsky served as a rifleman in the 35th Guards Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade and was awarded the medal "For Courage".

MOSCOW, September 10 - RIA Novosti. Journalist Marat Vinsky told RIA Novosti that he decided to sign a contract and go to the Northern Military District after, during a business trip to Donetsk, he interviewed a 20-year-old intelligence officer, who immediately after the conversation went on a combat mission.

According to him, the idea of ​​participating in a special operation came to him back in 2022. He began to become interested in military affairs, collect equipment and prepare, but made the final decision after an editorial trip to Donetsk.

“I interviewed a soldier who served as a scout on the front line. He was 20 years old, and I was already over 40. After the interview, he took a bulletproof vest, a machine gun and went on a mission. Then I thought: if this young guy does this, then I, a healthy adult man, probably need to do something similar,” Vinsky said.

After that, he said, he contacted the military registration and enlistment office and signed a contract in 2023.
