New international funding to support the health sector in Syria

The organization explained that the new funding will contribute to securing medicines for non-communicable diseases, in addition to supporting emergency medical care and mental health services, which are among the sectors that require continued supply and equipment to ensure that patients have access to the necessary care.

Part of the aid will also be allocated to provide the necessary medical equipment and supplies for vital departments within hospitals, including dialysis rooms, emergency and surgical departments, and intensive care units.

This support aims to contribute to maintaining the continuity of basic medical services, enhancing the readiness of health facilities to deal with emergency cases and patients who need specialized care, in addition to improving the availability of necessary medicines and supplies.

The funding comes at a time when the health sector in Syria continues to face increasing needs, making international humanitarian aid an important factor in supporting the work of health facilities and providing basic services to patients in various regions.
