The Kuomintang recently launched a series of "drug smear" attacks against Shen Boyang, the Taipei mayoral candidate of the Democratic Progressive Party. Chen Jinghuiming, the convener of the Kuomintang's health and environmental committee, also arranged for eight agencies including the Ministry of Health and Welfare to conduct a special report on drug harm reduction. He was questioned for using the power of the Legislative Yuan to conduct election manipulation. Lin Yueqin, a DPP legislator and candidate for Miaoli mayor, said that the "Smoking Harm Prevention Law" that she expedited during the last session was stuck in negotiation by the Kuomintang's irrelevant proposal. She hopes that the Kuomintang can have a good discussion and not let so many professional groups down again.

Lin Yueqin said that it is rare for a mayor's election strategy to anger so many professional groups and force social workers to be angry enough to take to the streets to protest. The Health and Environmental Protection Committee should listen to the profession and not become a smear extension of the election campaign.

Lin Yueqin mentioned that Jiang Wanan asked when talking about vaccines in 2022: "Do you want to believe Tzu Chi or the DPP?" Now, Tzu Chi Hospital has also signed a statement from the medical community, demanding a return to law, medical supervision and effectiveness evaluation to avoid misleading society with wrong information. I hope Mayor Jiang and the Kuomintang can listen.

Lin Yueqin criticized that instead of dwelling on articles from 12 years ago, the Legislative Yuan should ask whether the current problems have been solved. For emerging drugs such as etomidate, prevention and treatment must keep up. The "Smoking Harm Prevention Law" that she had expedited during the previous session was stuck in negotiations due to irrelevant proposals from the Kuomintang.
