Ding Zhongli, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, attended the meeting.
At the ceremony, the Central Committee of the China Democratic League and the China Democratic League organizations at all levels donated educational facilities and materials to Qixingguan District, and issued the "China League Education Award" and "China League Fund for Needy Students" bursaries worth a total of 10.35 million yuan; the China Democratic League Enlightenment Charity Foundation donated educational materials to the Bijie Municipal Education Bureau; the China Democratic League Candlelight Go School was officially unveiled.
Ding Zhongli emphasized that 2026 is the first year of the "15th Five-Year Plan" and the beginning of normalized targeted assistance. The united front's "regional + field" group assistance has entered a critical period. It is necessary to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on Bijie work, give full play to the advantages of the sector, and promote the quality and efficiency of assistance work with greater intensity, higher standards, and more practical measures. Democratic League organizations at all levels must do a solid job in "regional + field" group assistance work, constantly innovate assistance forms and carriers, and continue to contribute wisdom to the high-quality development of the Bijie Pilot Zone.
Since the Central Committee of the China Democratic League and the Central Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party formally provided assistance to Bijie in 1989 and 1993, the United Front has focused on upgrading campus hardware, building teaching staff, interoperating educational resources, and improving quality education to comprehensively assist the high-quality development of Bijie’s education. After the United Front's "regional + field" group assistance was launched in Bijie in 2023, the Central Committee of the Democratic League and the Central Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party took the lead in assistance in the education field. The central committees of various democratic parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, etc. actively participated in the group assistance in the education field to achieve superposition of advantages, grouping of resources, and coordinated efforts.
In Bijie City, the Central Committee of the China Democratic League has fully implemented the "regional + field" group-based assistance work deployment in Bijie, continued to deepen the "Rural Education Candlelight Action", built a "1+20+N" assistance pattern, established 138 assistance teams, provided targeted assistance to 145 schools in Bijie, and improved 69 candlelight Libraries, donated recording rooms, music classrooms, etc., helped rural schools repair sports venues, purchase sports equipment, donated scholarships and bursaries and other types of educational and teaching materials; batch after batch of rural schools were renovated, and tens of thousands of students were able to study and pursue their dreams in brighter classrooms.
The Central Committee of the Democratic Progressive Party closely adheres to the goal of building a powerful country through education, combined with the actual needs of Bijie to build a demonstration area for the implementation of new development concepts, and takes "Concentric Rainbow Action" as the core brand to gradually form a series of "enlightenment" projects to lead the field of assistance work in the "five educations" idea of "simultaneous development of moral, intellectual, physical, artistic and labor". Before the event, Ding Zhongli and his party also went to the Central School of Qingchang Town, Qixingguan District, Bijie City, and Bijie Preschool Teachers College for on-site investigation.
