Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu says the Iranian regime is on the verge of collapse and believes the threat can be eliminated once and for all

(Central News Agency, Jerusalem, Comprehensive Foreign News Report on the 3rd) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today that he is confident that the Islamic Republic of Iran will soon collapse, saying that the Iranian regime is weaker than before after the United States resumed attacks.

Agence France-Presse reported that Netanyahu said at an event with the Israeli military leadership: "This regime is currently shaky, weaker than before, and struggling to survive."

"I believe we can eliminate this threat once and for all, which means overthrowing this regime," he said. "This is still the core task at hand, but it is now close, not impossible, just around the corner."

Netanyahu has described Iran, a clerical-ruled country, as an existential threat for decades. In late February this year, he teamed up with the United States to launch an attack on Iran. However, U.S. President Trump suddenly announced a ceasefire in April.

The United States this week stepped up economic pressure on Iran and resumed air strikes, prompting Iran to strike back at U.S. allies in the Persian Gulf, Jordan and the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan, but not against Israel.

"It's no accident that they didn't attack us. They attacked everyone except us," Netanyahu said.

"They know our strength, the power of our weapons and our determination."
