A security official in the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades warns against overthrowing the government and closing the outlets of countries participating in the siege of Iran

Abu Mujahid Al-Assaf, the security official in the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades, said in a blog post on the “X” platform that a government that “does not work for the benefit of the people” will face attempts to overthrow it, warning the Prime Minister and those he said were standing behind him against the continuation of this approach.

Al-Assaf added that the continuation of the "air blockade on Iran" after October 1 might, he said, prompt a position on the part of the Iraqis, including the possibility of "closing the outlets of the countries participating in the blockade of the Iranian people."

He also said that the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" will monitor Iraqi airspace to ensure that it is not used in what he described as "American violations," warning that any aircraft it considers "hostile" will be warned first, before measures are taken against it.

The statement, according to the published text, did not include specific details regarding the nature of the measures that the group might take against the Iraqi government or the aircraft it accuses of violating Iraqi airspace.

The Iraqi government had confirmed on previous occasions that Iraq seeks to spare its lands and airspace from involvement in the regional conflict, at a time when Baghdad continues its contacts with regional and international parties to contain the repercussions of the war.
