The Keelung District Prosecutor's Office established an enforcement team to investigate and interfere with elections to strictly prevent illegal activities

The 115-year local civil service election will be held on November 28. In order to ensure that the election is fair and impartial, the Keelung District Prosecutor's Office, in addition to convening a "Pre-election Inspection Strategy Meeting" on April 9, today convened by Attorney General Chen Jiaxiu, gathered the police, investigation, integrity and immigration agencies in the jurisdiction to establish an "Inspection and Obstruction of Election Enforcement Team" and held an unveiling ceremony to prevent all kinds of illegal activities that undermine fair elections and protect democratic values.

The Keelung District Prosecutor's Office pointed out that the Keelung constituency and some New Taipei City constituencies are about to hold the "115 local public officials election" on November 28, 2015. In order to maintain a fair election, the Chief Prosecutor Huang Sheng, Lin Siyin, and Chief Prosecutor Chen Bowen of the Business Executive Secretary were invited to participate in the unveiling ceremony together with the Keelung City Police Chief Lin Xinxiong, the Bureau of Investigation Keelung City Investigation Station Director Huang Shuhua, and the New Taipei City Investigation Office Xindian Investigation Station Director Gao Zhihao and other unit heads to participate in the unveiling ceremony.

Prosecutor General Chen Jiaxiu pointed out that we will strictly investigate bribery and violence, cut off electoral gambling, prevent false information from interfering with the election, and block foreign influence in the election. We remind all agencies to investigate and act with evidence. They must strictly abide by procedural justice and fully enforce the law to ensure the fairness and justice of this election and maintain the hard-won democratic achievements.
