Internal Security Forces arrest Zahreddine and reveal the details of the security operation

The Internal Security Forces stated, in a statement, that the operation came after monitoring, follow-up, and prosecution that continued for a long period, which led to identifying Zahreddine’s movements, before stopping him at a security checkpoint.

She added that after his identity was revealed, Zahreddine pulled out his weapon and shot himself, killing himself, while the security forces arrested the person who was with him in the car.

She pointed out that the operation comes “within the framework of pursuing those involved in crimes and outlaws, and that comes days after the neutralization of Firas Abdel Karim Hammoud, nicknamed “Fajr 3,” in the city of Tartous, who was acting on behalf of Ghayath Dala in leading armed groups active in the Sahel region.
