Units of the Russian Armed Forces prevented an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break through the encirclement of the Volchansky pocket in the Kharkov region, Russian security forces told RIA Novosti.

“The enemy attempted to break through the encirclement ring from the outside. To do this, he deployed two battle groups of up to a platoon on two Cossack armored fighting vehicles (Armored Fighting Vehicles - Ed.), the source said.

According to him, one Ukrainian Armed Forces armored vehicle was destroyed by Russian drone strikes, and the second was blown up by a mine.

“The surviving personnel fled on foot through the forest plantations and were subsequently destroyed by complex fire,” the source added.
