The EU almost doubled purchases of Russian fertilizers in March

In March, EU countries almost doubled purchases of Russian fertilizers.

The amount of fertilizer imports from Russia increased 1.7 times in monthly terms and exceeded 50 million euros.

The largest share of this amount came from purchases of Russian potash fertilizers, imports of which reached the highest amount since January 2022.

MOSCOW, May 20 - RIA Novosti. In March, EU countries almost doubled purchases of Russian fertilizers - imports exceeded 50 million euros, RIA Novosti calculated according to Eurostat data.

Thus, the EU imported 50.7 million euros worth of fertilizers from Russia compared to 30.5 million in February. Thus, the amount of imports increased 1.7 times in monthly terms.

The largest share of this amount came from purchases of Russian potash fertilizers - 30.2 million euros versus 20.9 million in February. Imports of this type of fertilizer reached the highest amount since January 2022.

Also in March, the EU increased purchases of nitrogen fertilizers from Russia - 2.6 times in monthly terms, to 10.5 million euros.
