Mind Maps of the World's Cities: How a British artist translates his wanderings into works of art

At first glance it looks like a map crowded with details, but as you get closer, strange little symbols begin to appear. British artist Gareth Fuller does not draw maps of the kind you might find in atlases. They are not drawn to a specific scale, and do not include street names. He calls them “mind maps,” and they are his artistic representations of time spent walking and exploring cities. In the age of Google Maps, where many people rely on their phones to navigate new places, Fuller believes that people have lost the sense of discovery.
