Iranian Foreign Minister: China's visit decisions will determine the strategic balance in the region

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday, following his visit to China, that the decisions taken during the visit will determine the future strategic balance in the region.

Araqchi wrote on his official account on the “X” platform, previously Twitter, that he held consultations that he described as “successful” with Chinese officials.

Abbas Araqchi said: “Successful consultations were held in China with our partners. Iran attaches special importance and value to the strategic partnership we have built and strengthened with China over the past years.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister added: “The decisions taken today will have a direct impact on the future strategic balance in the region, and will have wide and multiple repercussions,” he was quoted by the semi-official Iranian Tasnim News Agency.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stated at the conclusion of his post that “the four principles of peace put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping are gaining pivotal importance,” he said.

During the visit, Araqchi made two separate phone calls, with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Pakistani Army Commander Field Marshal Asim Munir, to discuss the latest regional developments and issues of common interest, according to what was reported by the official Iranian “IRNA” news agency.
