Acting Governor of the Tver Region Vitaly Korolev announced large-scale preparations for the 900th anniversary of Tver

MOSCOW, September 10 - RIA Novosti. The celebration of the 900th anniversary of Tver became one of the topics of the address of the Acting Governor of the Tver Region Vitaly Korolev to the residents of the region, which he presented in the multimedia park “Russia - My History,” the press service of the regional government reports.

The head of the Upper Volga region emphasized that on the eve of a significant date, the renovation of the regional capital will become a priority, which will consolidate around itself not only regional, but also federal resources.

To prepare for the holiday, an organizing committee will be created, a master plan will be prepared, and the necessary federal decisions will be made. In particular, it is planned to assign state status to the event.

“We must treat the anniversary as a national project for the development of the capital of the Upper Volga region,” the press service quotes Korolev as saying.

It is planned to implement a large number of projects before the anniversary year 2035. These include the improvement of the Rechnoy cluster, the Museum Quarter, city embankments according to the most modern standards, restoration and renovation of cultural heritage sites, and tidying up the facades of the historical center.

Work to transform the regional capital has already begun - the reconstruction of the City Garden is at the finish line.

“Comprehensive landscaping is being completed there: new recreation areas, attractions, children’s and dance floors, and much more will be created. A new Ferris wheel – 50 meters high – has already been launched. For me, this is a symbol: Tver rises to a new height, from where the city is visible as beautiful, whole, strong,” Korolev noted and invited residents and guests of the region to the opening of the City Garden, which is scheduled for September 13.

The head of the region also said that the official opening of the updated Trekhsvyatskaya Street will soon take place, negotiations are underway on the creation of a branch of the Patriot Park near Tver, as well as work on projects for a new sports palace, an athletics arena and a modern ice arena.
