The New Taipei City mayoral election campaign is building momentum, and big names in the blue camp gather to support Li Sichuan

The New Taipei City mayoral election is heating up. KMT candidate Li Sichuan held a grand rally today at the Banqiao First Sports Stadium. Party Chairman Cheng Lai-wen, Legislative Yuan Han Guo-yu, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wanan and New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi and other blue-chip celebrities showed up to support the campaign. More than 30,000 people attended the event. Hou Youyi, who is about to step down, said that for the future handover, dreams such as the MRT network, Baogao Phase II and the New Taipei Arena are yet to be realized. He praised Li Sichuan for his grassroots background and professional ability that definitely surpassed his own. He wanted to hand over the baton to the right person and implored the villagers to vote for Li Sichuan.

Hou Youyi pointed out in his speech that 16 years have passed in a blink of an eye and he is about to hand over the baton, but there are still many dreams to be fulfilled during the handover process. In recent years, New Taipei has completed a number of MRTs, including the Wanda-Zhonghe Line next year, a road network that will reach 189 kilometers in the next 8 to 10 years, as well as major construction projects such as the second phase of the Baogao Intelligent Industrial Park, the Wugu Zhonggang Development Project and the New Taipei Arena, all of which will be implemented by Li Sichuan.

Hou Youyi emphasized that New Taipei now has the longest MRT network in Taiwan, the largest number of public trusts, sewage management households and national sports centers. In the past, when Li Sichuan served as deputy mayor, the two fought side by side, with Li Sichuan always supporting him behind them. He praised the "Sichuan Brand" for its deep trust, and Li Sichuan was willing to dedicate his final career in public service to New Taipei City. New Taipei City is not a satellite city, but the center of the North-North Key Tao.

Hou Youyi said that the changes in Wugu Garbage Mountain and Yaozai Town show the determination of the city government. New Taipei City has been certified by the United Kingdom as the happiest city in Taiwan. He praised Li Sichuan for his background as a grassroots civil servant and being more professional, "his ability is definitely better than that of Hou Youyi." He called on the public to "affirm Hou Youyi and vote for Li Sichuan" so that the right person can take over and realize the vision of New Taipei citizens.
