The former head of the administration of the Starooskolsky district will be tried for a bribe in the form of an apartment

BELGOROD, October 3 - RIA Novosti. The former head of the administration of the Starooskolsky district, Alexander Sergienko, will be tried for receiving a bribe on an especially large scale - an apartment worth more than 12.5 million rubles, RIA Novosti was told in the Investigative Directorate for the Belgorod Region.

According to investigators, in February 2019, the official received from a commercial company an apartment with ready renovations worth more than 12.5 million rubles. For this, he promised the organization general patronage and assistance in extending the lease of land, bypassing official procedures. The crime was discovered by the Investigative Committee together with the regional department of the FSB. Investigators have collected enough evidence and the criminal case has been sent to court.

“The Second Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Belgorod Region has completed the investigation of the criminal case against the former head of the administration of the Stary Oskol City District, accused of committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe on an especially large scale),” the statement says.

As the prosecutor's office of the Belgorod region clarified, the Stary Oskol City Court will consider the case on its merits. The criminal investigation into the bribe-giver continues.
