The 8th World Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Conference opens in Hangzhou to discuss innovation and development

China News Service, Hangzhou, November 6 (Xi Jinyan) The 8th World Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Conference with the theme of "Zhejiang and Zhejiang jointly innovate and move toward the future" opened in Hangzhou on the 6th. According to statistics, there are more than 1,800 guests attending this conference, including more than 1,550 representatives of Zhejiang businessmen.

Zhejiang is a province with a large private economy. In the first three quarters of this year, Zhejiang had 4 million registered private enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 8.65%; private project investment increased by 2.1% year-on-year, 8.8 percentage points higher than the national level; private enterprise imports and exports increased by 10.5% year-on-year, accounting for 82.7% of the province's total import and export value.

In September this year, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce released the "Five Lists" of China's Top 500 Private Enterprises in 2026, with Zhejiang ranking first in terms of the number of companies on the list.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, a plaque awarding ceremony was held for representatives of Zhejiang's listed companies, which showcased the gradient cultivation of private enterprises in Zhejiang and the overall development achievements of Zhejiang businessmen at home and abroad. At the same time, a number of hard-core innovation results led or participated by private enterprises will be displayed in a centralized manner, and a number of innovative practice cases will be released.

As the largest, highest-level and most influential gathering of Zhejiang merchants in Zhejiang Province, the World Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Conference is an important platform to showcase the high-spirited style of Zhejiang merchants, promote cooperation and exchanges among Zhejiang merchants, and support entrepreneurship and innovation of Zhejiang merchants.

Nan Cunhui, Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce and President of the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said in his speech that the majority of Zhejiang businessmen should continue to increase investment in research and development based on their main businesses, focus on key points in the industrial chain to make up for shortcomings and strengths and weaknesses, and focus on core technologies to forge hard core capabilities in segmented tracks, continue to create new growth poles, and consolidate the foundation of anti-cyclical endurance with long-term technological accumulation.
