Tsingtao Taojie A16 Hospital project fell through, and the city government’s plan to reform the planning of the Science and Education Center raised questions from legislators

Tsinghua University has failed to build a hospital on the land around the Airport MRT A16 Hengshan Station. In the future, it will focus on science education centers and smart medical facilities. During the parliamentary inquiry today, DPP MPs Wei Jun and Zhang Xiaoyun believed that the population in the area continues to increase, and the local area is in urgent need of medical resources, and the city government policy should not change. Zhang Shanzheng once responded: "You become the president of Tsinghua University and you build it." He also mentioned that although the city government can take back the land in accordance with the law, the process is long and time-consuming, so at this stage, he still hopes to find a cooperation plan with Tsinghua University.

Wei Jun said that residents in the Qingpu area have long looked forward to the Tsinghua University Hospital, and now it is inevitable that the place will be disappointed. Compared with Yangming Jiaotong University, which has a specific development plan at the Jijie A19 Taoyuan Sports Park Station, and Yangming Jiaotong University has a medical-related institute, it is recommended that the city government evaluate and take back the A16 land, and use Yangming Jiaotong University to move in and develop it, so that the precious land can still be used for medical purposes.

Zhang Xiaoyun also mentioned that Zhang Shanzheng announced that Tsinghua University would be located on the land around A16 to plan a science and education museum, but this was never stated in the past city government work reports. Compared with the science and education museum, the local demand for large-scale medical facilities is more urgent, criticizing the city government for "ready-made land acquisition cannot achieve arbitrary reform policies."

Zhang Shanzheng pointed out that the latest cooperation content proposed by Tsingta University still includes science education center and smart medical related facilities, and the city government requires Tsingta University to provide more specific explanations; as for the concept of science and education center, which has been discussed for two years, because the plan is not mature, it still needs to be evaluated in the future, so it is not appropriate to announce it to the public too early.

Regarding the idea of ​​moving the A19 base to the A16 base, Zhang Shanzheng responded that the land resumption involves the wishes of Tsinghua University and must also take into account the planning of Yangming Jiaotong University. Currently, Yangming Jiaotong University has prepared to attract investment for the A19 base. The relevant investment conditions are based on the existing base plan, so it is not practical to transfer the plan to the A16 Hengshan Station.
