Tender announcement for the survey and design project of the Lincang-Puer Railway is released to connect southwest Yunnan to the international corridor

China News Service, Kunming, September 5 (Reporter Du Xiaoxiao) Recently, China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. issued a bidding announcement for the survey and design project of the Lincang-Pu'er railway, marking that this railway trunk line connecting southwestern Yunnan and connecting major international corridors is one step closer to starting construction.

The Lincang to Pu'er Railway (hereinafter referred to as the "Linpu Railway") leads from Lincang Station of the Dali to Lincang Railway, crosses the Lancang River to the southeast, and connects to the China-Laos Railway Ning'er Station via Jinggu Dai and Yi Autonomous County in Pu'er City. The total length of the line is approximately 153 kilometers. After the project is completed, it will be organically connected with the Dalin-Linzhou Railway and the China-Laos Railway, creating a convenient channel connecting Lincang to Southeast Asia.

The Linpu Railway is an important passage connecting the western line and the middle line of the Pan-Asia Railway, and is an important part of the border railway in Yunnan Province. After the railway is opened to traffic, it will effectively break logistics obstructions, accelerate the transformation of resource advantages in areas along the line into economic advantages, and inject new momentum into high-quality regional development. In addition, the line will connect the Greater West Yunnan Tourism Golden Line, and together with the existing railway network, build a major tourism channel running from northwest Yunnan to southwest Yunnan, significantly reducing travel costs, promoting the deep integration of tourism resources, and injecting strong impetus into the high-quality development of Yunnan's cultural tourism industry.

The Linpu Railway is rich in mineral resources and has distinctive agricultural and forestry characteristics. However, it has long been restricted by transportation bottlenecks and its resource advantages have not been fully released. After the railway is completed, it will give full play to Yunnan's geographical advantages adjacent to Southeast Asia, and accelerate the construction of economic corridors between Bangladesh, China, India, and Myanmar, and China to Indochina, which will play an important role in enhancing economic and trade exchanges, cooperation, and personnel exchanges with Southeast Asia and South Asia.
