يذكر أنه في الشهر الماضي، أحالت إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب، اتفاقية التعاون النووي الموقعة مع السعودية إلى الكونغرس، وذلك وفق ما أفاد به مسؤول في الإدارة وعدد من مساعدي أعضاء الكونغرس لشبكة CNN.

وسوف تدخل الاتفاقية، التي تسمح بتخصيب اليورانيوم على الأراضي السعودية، حيز التنفيذ خلال 90 يومًا ما لم يُصدر مجلسَا الكونغرس قرارات رفض، وفق قانون الطاقة الذرية الأمريكي.
