(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Noh Seon-woong = On the 6th, People Power Party lawmaker Jin Jong-oh applied for a provisional injunction to suspend the Central Ethics Committee's disciplinary action of suspending party membership for reasons such as supporting the election of independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon.

Lawyer Park Sang-soo, the legal representative of Rep. Jin, announced on Facebook that day, “We have received an application for a provisional injunction to suspend the disciplinary effect of Rep. Jin Jong-oh.”

Previously, on the 20th of last month, the party's ethics committee supported a lawmaker who ran as an independent in the Busan Bukgap by-election for the June 3rd National Assembly member, and suspended lawmaker Jin for two years for making a mistake at a meeting attended by the victim of the 'Busan roundhouse kick' incident.

Accordingly, Rep. Jin announced that he would file for a temporary injunction instead of requesting a retrial.

Representative Jin said on Facebook on the 3rd, "We will judge from the perspective of the law whether the reason for disciplinary action has been sufficiently proven by objective facts and evidence, whether the act falls under the grounds for disciplinary action under the party regulations, whether the disciplinary process was conducted legally and fairly, and whether the 2-year suspension of party membership is proportional and reasonable compared to the reason for disciplinary action."
