Civil Protection controlled a massive fire in a factory in Qalyubia

The Qalyubia Governorate Crisis Room received a report of the fire, and civil protection forces were immediately dispatched to Qalyubia, supported by about 30 fire engines, to control the fire for fear of it spreading to neighboring factories in the industrial zone.

The efforts of the civil protection forces continued for about 5 hours to confront the flames, before the fire was completely brought under control, while the fire brigades continued cooling work to ensure that all burning spots were extinguished and the fire was prevented from reoccurring.

Initial inspections indicated that the fire started inside the courtyard designated for storing large cardboard rolls, in a factory located on an area of ​​approximately 20,000 square metres, before the fire spread to a neighboring clothing factory consisting of 4 floors, and reached the fourth floor.

The civil protection forces in Qalyubia sent about 30 fire trucks to the site of the accident, led by Brigadier General Ahmed Manie, Director of the Civil Protection Department in the governorate, where the fire brigades worked to cordon off the fire and prevent it from spreading to the rest of the factory and surrounding industrial facilities.

Initial inspections showed a large amount of damage to the manufacturers, while the material losses were initially estimated at millions of pounds, with the competent authorities to determine their extent more accurately after the completion of the inspection and inventory work.

According to preliminary information, the fire did not result in any deaths, while the competent authorities continue examination and investigation work to determine the causes of the fire and the circumstances of the accident, and to take the necessary legal measures.
