US Treasury Secretary Bessent's 'Busan Agreement' warning to China

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that, in his meeting with Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Hı Lifing, he emphasized the importance of China fully and promptly fulfilling its commitments within the scope of the Busan agreement.

In the statement made by the US Treasury Department, it was reported that Bessent and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer met with Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Hi.

It was stated in the statement that bilateral economic relations and the implementation of the Busan agreement were discussed during the meeting, and that Bessent and Greer pointed out the importance of maintaining direct and open communication.

In his post about the meeting on the social media platform of US-based company X, Bessent said, "I emphasized the importance of China fulfilling its commitments completely and immediately."

Stating that he expressed his concerns about China's recent actions, Bessent stated that he underlined that the progress to be made depends on concrete results.

Bessent emphasized that US President Donald Trump's administration will continue to pursue policies that benefit American workers, farmers and businesses and strengthen the economic and national security of the United States.
